Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh took to his official Instagram handle in early hours of January 14 and shared a rare autograph sheet from 2007 ICC ODI World Cup. sheet with autographs of legendary players like Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Saurav Ganguly, and ors left fans in awe. Sharing picture, Harbhajan revealed fans across world used to receive se sheets, prior to selfie era.
“Worldcup 2007 Team.. Autograph sheets we use to sign for fans across world .. Ab selfie ka zamana hai . Par autograph sab k pass pahunchte selfie k liye koi koi pass aa sakta hai,” Harbhajan Singh wrote in caption.

It is pertinent to mention that this was last World Cup appearance for Indian cricket legends like Saurav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, and Anil Kumble. While India traveled to World Cup in West Indies with ir hopes high, y suffered a pretty disappointing campaign and exited tournament from group st. Indian cricket fans were much disappointed with national team’s performance at marquee event.

However, a few months later a young Indian side under MS Dhoni’s captaincy scripted history by winning inaugural edition of ICC T20 World Cup in 2007. T20 World Cup victory marked beginning of a new era for Indian cricket team, which played a fearless brand of cricket. Cut to 2011, Dhoni led Men In Blue to ICC ODI World Cup win which was first for India in 28 years and second overall.
This was last World Cup appearance for big players like Tendulkar, Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, and Zaheer Khan. India failed to achieve World Cup glory during next two editions of tournament in 2015 and 2019. Under Virat Kohli’s captaincy, India reached semifinals of prestigious tournament in 2019, but failed to vance to final. semi-final loss to New Zealand was Dhoni’s last World Cup as well as international appearance.
