Harbhajan Singh leaves fans in splits after posting 1999 Aus vs WI ODI throwback video

Former Team India bowler Harbhajan Singh often shares interesting posts on his social media and it was different on Thursday. CSK off-spinner recently posted a 1999 video when Australia faced West Indies in fifth ODI of ir ODI series at Guyana in West Indies. match ended in a tie after last ball was interrupted by fans who invaded pitch.

Australia duo of Steve Waugh and Shane Warne get scared by unruly fans

After first four ODIs, series was levelled with both teams getting two wins each. fifth match of 7-match series was at Guyana and rain-shortened fixture was played with 30 overs in each innings. Windies posted a total of 173 in ir 30 and Australia chased it down well. chase finally came down to last over where captain Steve Waugh and a young Shane Warne were batting and needed 6 to win from Keith Arthurton's last over. Arthurton defended well and equation came down to 4 to win off last ball.

As final ball was bowled, Waugh hit ball towards legside as two batsman ran hard to tie match at least. Due to  failure of security guards at stadium, West Indies fans swarmed field while ball was in play and took out stumps and created a ruckus. It was estimated that at least 1000 fans were on field. Because of this disturbance, match could t be officially concluded. Steve Waugh had later spoken about how he was scared for his life as fans swarmed ground and pushed him around. Match referee Raman Subba Row reflected on match for an hour and finally decided that match would be declared a tie.

series was n tied again and sixth ODI at Bridgetown was won by Australia. West Indies won seventh ODI at Bridgetown and series ended as a draw 3-3.
