Hardik Pandya is easily India's best fast-bowling all-rounder since Kapil Dev. Unfortunately, his cricketing career has yet been unstable due to injuries. It is injuries that have not allowed Hardik to be the cricketer he should be. The Indian all-rounder now has almost stopped playing Test cricket. He has not featured in a first-class game for over six years now. But with India's long Test home season started, it seems like Hardik has had a change of heart and is now going to focus on red-ball cricket. The Mumbai Indians captain's latest post on X has forced fans to speculate. Hardik shared a series of pictures from his practice session where he is seen bowling with a red-ball. So, is he trying to get back to Test cricket? With the Border-Gavaskar trophy a couple of months away, Hardik could very well be on the flight to Australia.

What May Have Prompted Hardik to Train With The Red-Cherry

Hardik is currently the captain of the Mumbai Indians team and he was part of the T20 World Cup -winning side recently as well. One of the biggest reasons behind Hardik practicing with the red cherry is head coach Gautam Gambhir . The India head coach has categorically said that he is a strong believer of players playing all three formats.

“I’m a very strong believer in one thing, that if you’re good, you should be playing all the three formats,” Gambhir had said in his first interview as Indian head coach.

“When you’re playing international cricket and you’re good enough, you ask any of the top players, they want to play all the three formats. They don’t want to stay and they don’t want to be labelled as red ball bowler or white ball bowler,” he’d further added.
