Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who recently celebrated a triumphant T20 World Cup 2024 victory in the West Indies and USA, delighted fans by recreating his iconic pose during a pre-series photoshoot on Thursday.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video of the Indian cricket team’s photoshoot on its official social media channels, showcasing the players gearing up for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka.

Hardik Pandya strikes his iconic T20 World Cup pose
In the video, the Indian squad can be seen posing for the camera, but it was Hardik Pandya who stole the spotlight. The vice-captain chose to recreate the memorable pose he struck during the T20 World Cup, reminiscent of popular Instagram influencer Khaby Lame's signature style.

The gesture was first seen when Hardik Pandya celebrated dismissing Pakistan’s Shadab Khan earlier in the tournament. He further cemented the moment in fans' memories by striking the same pose with the trophy by his side after India clinched the title.
Hardik Pandya played crucial roles down the order, delivering impactful cameos with the bat and making key breakthroughs with the ball when the team needed him most. He amassed 144 runs at a strike rate exceeding 150 and also claimed 11 wickets.

However, his standout performance came in the final against South Africa. With the opposition in a strong position, Hardik's crucial wicket of Klaasen shifted the momentum. He then held his nerve in the tense final over, successfully defending 16 runs to secure India's victory in the T20 World Cup.

As India prepares for the white-ball series against Sri Lanka, Hardik Pandya’s light-hearted moment has added a touch of nostalgia and excitement, reminding fans of his significant contributions to the team's recent triumph.
India and Sri Lanka are scheduled to play three T20I matches and as many ODI games starting July 27. Suryakumar Yadav will captain the T20I team, while Rohit Sharma will lead the ODI side. This is India's first bilateral series under the newly-appointed head coach Gautam Gambhir.
