'Voice of Indian Cricket' Harsha Bhogle was stunned with Glenn Maxwell's sudden decision to take a break from cricket due to mental health issues. Cricket Australia Team Psychologist Dr. Michael Lloyd said that Glenn Maxwell had been experiencing some difficulties with regards to his mental health. As a result, he was going to spend some time away from game. He added that Glenn Maxwell was proactive in identifying se issues and engaging with support staff.

Indian commentator and analyst said that Glenn Maxwell was one of last players that he had expected would have issues with his mental health. Hailing Glenn Maxwell to be full of life and cheer, Harsha Bhogle hoped that Glenn Maxwell would return to action soon. Harsha Bhogle also highlighted hidden stress faced by top-athletes as a result of pressure on m to perform. Harsha Bhogle took to Twitter to post his mess for Australian all-rounder.

Glenn Maxwell to take an indefinite break

Glenn Maxwell's decision was met with a lot of sensitivity from Cricket Board, as Ben Oliver who is executive general manr of Australian team said that well-being of players and staff was paramount. Oliver said that well-being of  players and staff was of utmost importance and extended Board's support to him. He went on to say that Cricket Australia was going to work collaboratively with Cricket Victoria's support staff to ensure Glenn's well-being and his reintegration into game. He urged everyone to give Glenn, his family and friends and requested m to respect ir privacy. Oliver added that Glenn Maxwell was a special player and an important part of Australian cricket family and he wanted to see him back in team during summer.
