Harsha Bhogle tells fans this woman cricketer is ahead of Rohit Sharma

As India eye to storm back into the series after losing the series opener against Bangladesh, Rohit Sharma will register yet another feat to his name. The stand-in T20 skipper will be playing his 100th T20I, thereby becoming the first Indian men's cricketer to play 100 games. However, Rohit Sharma is not the first Indian cricketer to do so and Harsha Bhogle took to quickly remind the fans about who had already achieved this feat before. The record-holder is none other than the skipper of the Indian women's T20 team Harmanpreet Kaur.

Harmanpreet Kaur - A trendsetting player

Harmanpreet Kaur is a trailblazer in India’s Women's Cricket. The current India T20I captain also plays for the Sydney Thunder in the Women’s Big Bash League. The 30-year-old made her Team India debut in 2009. She received an Arjuna Award in 2017. Harmanpreet became the first Indian cricketer, male or female, to be roped in by a foreign T20 league when as many as three WBBL teams calling to sign the aggressive middle-order bat. She ended up with inaugural champions Sydney Thunder and won the franchise's Player of the Tournament award for her all-round show in the debut season. Months later, the T20 captain became the first Indian to sign up with Surrey Stars for the second edition of ECB's Women's Cricket League.

Rohit Sharma's milestone moment

The right-hand batsman is currently leading the Indian team and will become the first Indian men's cricketer to feature in hundred T20 International matches. The only men's cricketer who has played more than 100 T20 International matches is Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik. After his appearance in the second T20I, Rohit Sharma will become the second men's cricketer to play in 100 T20 International matches. After the first T20I, Rohit Sharma is tied with former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi on second in the list of most appearances in T20Is overall.
