Ravi Shastri heaps huge praise for Virat Kohli
Former India head coach Ravi Shastri has profusely praised batting maestro Virat Kohli and talked upon his passion and dedication towards the game has helped him keep Test Cricket alive. Shastri, who is very close to Kohli, is occupied with doing commentary for Australian broadcasters during the Test series between Australia and Pakistan.
Shastri was asked to comment on Kohli during the opening Test match. The former India head coach praised the superstar batsman's dedication in the game and work ethic.
Shastri said on Fox Sports:
“His work ethic, the passion for the game and the desire to perform against the best in the world and getting himself into the position that allows himself to do that. Sacrifice whatever is needed to get there. No one trains harder and works harder than him.”

Kohli “is one of the modern-day greats”: Shastri
The 1983 World Cup champion added that Kohli enjoys batting in Australia because it brings forth his best qualities. He also gave credit to Kohli for sustaining Test cricket, noting that India played fearless brand of cricket under his leadership and won the inaugural Test series in Australia in 2019–20.
“He is one of the modern-day greats, he has kept the Test cricket going. There are very few ambassadors of the Test like Virat Kohli. He brings energy on the field as a captain and as a player, look at his eyes, he means business. He meant business in this year’s World Cup. In the final, his was the biggest wicket that changed the whole tempo of the game and silenced the crowd,” he added.
