Hindi Diwas is celebrated in India on September 14 each year to honour and celebrate the country's linguistic heritage. Today is a very important day, as it commemorates the adoption of Hindi as the official language of India. The celebration of this event dates back to 1949, when Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first Prime Minister, declared Hindi the official language of the nation.

Hindi Diwas 2023: Sachin Tendulkar celebrates Hindi Diwas with fans through a tricky question 

Even after his famous playing career, Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar is still very active on social media. Tendulkar frequently interacts with his fans, offering his thoughts on major cricket happenings as well as other subjects. On the occasion of Hindi Diwas, Tendulkar issued a cricket terminology test to his followers. Tendulkar urged his supporters on Twitter to translate words like umpire, wicket-keeper, fielder, and helmet into Hindi.

Tendulkar has the most Test appearances for India, 200. The famous cricketer scored 15,921 runs at 53.78, including 51 centuries and 68 half-centuries. Unbeaten 248 is his best score in this format. In addition to his amazing Test career, Tendulkar played 463 ODIs, scoring 18,426 runs at an average of  44.83 and a strike rate of 86.23. He scored 49 centuries and 96 fifties in this format, including 200 not out. Tendulkar is the top run-scorer in international cricket and the first player to reach a double century in an ODI.

Tendulkar scored 10 runs in one T20 International. His career total of 34,357 runs at an average of 48.52 and 67 strike rate came from 664 matches across all formats. He has 100 centuries and 164 fifties. Tendulkar is the only international cricketer to score 100 hundreds.
