'I loved our battles': Former England pacer Stuart Broad leaves special note for David Warner

Former England pacer Stuart Broad has left a special message for David Warner as Australia's veteran opener retired from Tests on January 6, Saturday, at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Broad dismissed Warner 17 times in 31 Test matches during their decade-long rivalry, which spanned from 2013 to 2023. Warner only averaged 17 against the English pacer. Warner's Test career for Australia has come to an end after 112 matches.

Stuart Broad's heartfelt note for David Warner
Stuart Broad congratulated David Warner on completing a successful career. The former England pacer took to Instagram to express his respect for the Aussie batsman.
"A very entertaining Test Match career David Warner. I loved our battles over the years. Walking off at the Sydney Cricket Ground is a special way to go! Congrats mate," Broad wrote on Instagram.
Warner played his final Test for Australia in whites at his home stadium, where he grew up playing cricket, and scored a match-winning 57 runs against Pakistan. As Warner hoisted his bat and basked in the glory, the 37-year-old walked off the field to a standing ovation from the crowd. Australia completed a clean sweep of Pakistan in the Test series, winning 3-0.
Not all gone
David Warner announced his plans to retire from Test cricket during the Ashes 2023, however, upon reaching the final chapter of his Test career, Warner declared farewell to the ODI cricket as well. The veteran batsman will continue to grace the game of cricket through the T20 format and will also be seen in IPL 2024, playing for the Delhi Capitals franchise.
