The Paris Olympics have now come to a close and in many ways it was one of the most controversial Summer Games to ever have happened. From gender row in boxing to Vinesh Phogat missing her 50 kg freestyle wrestling final by a whisker, the Paris Games saw it all. The Olympics will now move to Los Angeles, California, the home of Hollywood and what's got the Indians excited? the inclusion of cricket.

ICC Possibly To Work Closely With the International Olympic Committee

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has always made massive efforts towards making cricket a global sport. The ICC had assigned the partial hosting rights of the T20 World Cup to America just to oversee the growth of the game in the States. Cricket being included in the LA Olympics is a huge step and will impact the game in a good way.

The ICC is now planning to work closely with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to ensure that cricket gets included in the Youth Olympics 2030 too. The Government of India made a huge announcement last year that it will bid for the 2030 Youth Olympics and hence the ICC might fancy its chances to cricket included too. The Government of India is also hopeful about hosting the 2036 Olympics in Mumbai.

India's Mission 2036

While addressing an Indian Olympic Committee last year in Mumbai, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hinted towards hosting the Youth Olympics in 2023. The government of India is also hopeful that India can host the 2036 Olympics. While delivering his speech on India's 78th Independence Day, PM Modi reiterated on the fact that India will try its very best to welcome the Olympics in the subcontinent.
