Rishabh Pant hands out some advice to R Ashwin, then veteran scalps Najmul Shanto's wicket
During the 29th over, Ashwin was bowling against Najmul Hossain Shanto and he delivered a length delivery from around the wicket, which the Bangladeshi skipper defended with no issue. After his delivery, Rishabh Pant urged him to alter his bowling strategy in the next one to surprise the batter on strike. Pant said, "Ash Bhai idhar daalna padega halka sa (Ash brother you will have to bowl a bit here)."
After hearing his teammate out, Ashwin bowled the next ball a little bit more forcefully, hitting the Bangladeshi captain with his pads. This caused all the Indian players to get their fingers up and make a loud appeal. The umpire was convinced, and he lifted his finger to indicate that Shanto was indeed out. The Skipper's innings ended on 31 runs on Day 1 of action at the Kanpur Test.
