Imran Nazir says he could have single-handedly won the game for Pak in 2007 T20 WC final

Imran Nazir recalled the ICC World T20 2007 final against arch-rivals India and said that he would have won the game single-handedly for the Men In Green

Imran Nazir said that Pakistan's defeat at hands of arch-rivals India in ICC World T20 2007 is biggest regret of his career. Chasing a stiff total of 158 in inaugural edition of T20 cricket's showpiece event, Nazir who h opened innings along with Kamran Akmal h scored a quickfire 14-ball 33 and just when it looked like he would single-handedly take Men In Green past finish line, an outstanding direct-hit from Robin Uthappa brought curtains down on his innings.

While interacting on Youtube show ‘Cricket Baaz’, Pakistani batsman recalled that bitter loss and went on to say that cricket-wise, that T20 World Cup final loss will remain biggest regret of his life and it will continue to hurt him till his last breath. Talking about that epic encounter, Imran Nazir mentioned that Pakistan h a chance to create history and from a personal point of view, he believes that he should have won that match single-handedly for Pakistan.

ex-opening batsman n ded that he was playing really well before that unfortunate run out ended his stay in middle and according to him, that is where match slowly slipped away.

On next delivery, he was dispatched into stands by Misbah after having bowled a full toss outside off stump. India were snatching defeat from jaws of victory as 6 runs were needed from 4 balls. n came moment which would go on to become immortal. medium-pacer n bowled a full-length delivery and Misbah could have once again taken him to cleaners but surprisingly, he played that infamous scoop-shot by going across stumps, and at one point, it seemed as if ball would go past boundary ropes after one bounce.

However, S Sreesanth covered a lot of distance and took an outstanding catch under pressure at fine-leg as Indian players and crowd erupted in joy. India went on to win inaugural edition of ICC World T20 by five runs.
