‘Backed Me to Play Freely’: Akash Deep Explores Rohit’s Role in Creating a Pressure-Free Atmosphere

Akash Deep emerged as a star when he made his Team India debut against England. The pacer was a trailblazer against Test Cricket Giants England as India went on to defeat them 4-1 in the red-ball series. With Team India running a full course of Test Cricket ahead of the WTC Final, Deep has found his chance to shine in the Bangladesh series. The young pacer was in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh for the two-match Test series, and he reflected upon the first Test match and heaped praise on Rohit Sharma .

Akash Deep Heaps Praise on Rohit Sharma , Reveals How the Skipper Is Supportive

Ahead of the 2nd India vs Bangladesh Test match in Kanpur, Akash Deep addressed the media, expressing gratitude towards the Indian Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma for allowing him to be true to himself and offering the liberty to play freely. Deep also reflected that under Rohit's guidance, he never felt that he was playing International cricket.

"I consider myself lucky to play under Rohit Sharma . He has never put me under any pressure. He has always backed me to play freely. I never felt that I am playing international cricket. He makes everything simple," Akash Deep said at the pre-match press conference.

The youthful speedster expressed his admiration for his legendary teammates Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in his speech, highlighting the invaluable lessons he acquired from them and how they are the legends in the game.

"They are legends of the game. Still, the dedication they show and the hard work they put in every day... I have been learning about dedication and hard work from Virat and Rohit," the young Indian pacer added.

Team India, led by Rohit Sharma , secured a massive win at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai after they defeated Bangladesh by 280 runs. The young pacer was crucial for the Men in Blue during Bangladesh's 1st innings as he scalped two wickets as the bowlers successfully limited Bangladesh batters from reaching the target. All eyes are now on the second test match in Kanpur, as Team India prepares for a whitewash while Bangladesh aims to avoid another loss against the Men in Blue.
