‘He Leads by Example’: Ex-BCCI Selector Applauds Rohit Sharma’s Leadership Skills as Test Captain

Speaking candidly about Rohit Sharma, a former BCCI Selector said that his development as the red-ball cricket captain has been admirable.

Rohit Sharma led Team India to a spectacular innings on Day 3 of the India vs Bangladesh match. The Kanpur crowd was in for a treat as the batters and bowlers delivered an absolute spectacle. The Indian Cricket Team received praise for their dominant display in red-ball cricket, and a former BCCI selector applauds Rohit Sharma 's transformation as a skipper in the game's longest format.

Ex-BCCI Selector Acknowledges Rohit Sharma ’s Capacities as a Test Cricket Skipper

During an appearance at the JioCinema broadcast, former BCCI Selector Saba Karim opened up on Rohit Sharma , saying that his transformation as the skipper in red-ball cricket has been commendable. Karim also disclosed that Rohit has the tools in the starting lineup to play effectively with both the bat and the ball.  

"I think it reveals a lot about Rohit Sharma 's character. I think that's the kind of transformation we have seen in Rohit Sharma 's captaincy in Test cricket now and before that we have seen in white ball cricket in T20 and ODI World Cups.

"I think Rohit's intentions have always been very clear. The decision-making has been very precise and I think it is good in a way that he's got players or resources in his lineup who can follow the path that he treads, and he leads by example all the time, and I've seen that in the past and even now in this Test innings. When he wants to impose as a team that you need to win this encounter, this is the way you have to take the game forward. And I think that's what Rohit and company have done so far," said Saba Karim.

Team India had a record-breaking outing after they shattered their record of scoring the fastest 50 and 100. They went on to breach the record for the fastest 150, 200 and 250 runs. The Indian batter laid out carnage in Kanpur as they demolished the BAN bowlers and took the lead on the same day before declaring the innings.

With Day 5 action taking place today, all eyes are on Rohit Sharma and how they will hone their strategy to find a win in a situation where the game could head into a draw.
