According to the weather forecast, the cyclone could cause massive rains in Saurashtra and South Gujarat. If the weather turns out as the forecast says, the 2nd T20I will be abandoned. This event comes in the wake of extreme pollution levels in Delhi which had almost cancelled the series T20I opener between India and Bangladesh.
“Severe cyclonic storm Maha lay centered at 580 kilometres southwest of Diu and 550 km southwest of Veraval. It is most likely to intensify into a very severe cyclonic storm and make landfall between Dwarka and Diu on Wednesday night or early Thursday morning with wind speeds of 120 kilometres per hour,” regional IMD director Jayanta Sarkar told PTI.
