India will be aiming to get off to a winning start against Bangladesh in the 1st T20I at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Sunday. Bangladesh skipper Mahmudullah Riyad won the toss and decided to bowl first. India got off to a good start as they managed 10 runs in the first over. However, it was Shafiul Islam who had the last laugh when he trapped Rohit Sharma plumb in front of the wicket. Shafiual had bowled a length delivery which came back in sharply. Even though the Indian skipper took a review it hardly mattered as the umpire had raised his finger.

Dhawan & Iyer's cameo knocks
After KL Rahul's dismissal, Shreyas Iyer joined Shikhar Dhawan in the middle and the two Delhi Capitals players tried to rebuild the Indian innings. Iyer looked in great touch having hit a couple of maximums but failed to capitalise in the quest of going for quick runs. He miscued one off the bowling of Aminul Islam but could not clear the fence as the ball found Mohammad Naim on the boundary as the youngster walked back for a 13-ball 22 at a strike rate of 169.23. Dhawan on the other hand also looked set for a big one. Sadly, his stay at the crease came to an unfortunate end when he attempted to take a risky second run and was run out by a distance by Bangladesh skipper Mahmudullah Riyad who threw the ball to Mushfiqur Rahim who made absolutely no mistake behind the stumps.

Sundar, Pandya take India to 148
After Dhawan was sent back, debutant Shivam Dube failed to impress as he could only manage one run. Even Rishabh Pant managed to make an impact but could not convert into a big score. But, Washington Sundar and Krunal Pandya had other ideas as they made the most of it in the final overs. Sundar played a stellar cameo of an unbeaten quickfire 5-ball 14 which included a couple of big ones and a huge six by the elder Pandya off the last ball of the innings helped India get to a decent total of 148/6 in their 20 overs.
