Earlier in the day, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field first at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Hasan Mahmud struck early to dismiss Indian skipper Rohit Sharma for 6 runs. He went to take the wickets of Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli before removing Rishabh Pant following the lunch break. Yashasvi Jaiswal has reached his half-century and is currently batting with KL Rahul in the middle.
