IND vs NZ 1st Test: Rohit Sharma and Co. are hosting New Zealand for a three-match Test series. This will be India's last home Test series before they jet off to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in November. New Zealand are without their former skipper Kane Williamson in the first Test and have a herculean task ahead of them to defeat India. The first day of the Bengaluru Test match was called off due to persistent rains and wet outfield.

When play resumed on the second day of the first Test, India won the toss and chose to bat first. This decision came as a surprise to many with the conditions at the Chinnaswamy Stadium being overcast and with the floodlights being on. The Kiwi pacers made the most of the conditions at their disposal and dismissed three Indian batters in a short span of time.

With Shubman Gill missing out on the first Test against New Zealand, Mumbai youngster Sarfaraz Khan was roped in to play in the middle order. Interestingly, Virat Kohli came out to bat on number three bit he scored a 9 ball duck as he was dismissed by William ORourke. Soon after Kohli's dismissal, Sarfaraz Khan too couldn't hold his end. Seeing the ball darting all around and the pressure mounting on him, Sarfaraz tried to play a drive, as the ball travelled through air, Devon Conway, who was stationed on mid-off grabbed an one-handed blinder to send him off.
