IND vs NZ 1st Test: Rohit Sharma and Co.'s plan of batting first in Bengaluru under overcast conditions has completely backfired. Contrary to their star power and their batting prowess, India managed to score just 46 runs on the second day of the Chinnaswamy Test, the IND vs NZ Test series opener. India won the toss in Bengaluru and for reasons best known to them, they chose to have a crack at the Kiwi batters.

Ajinkya Rahane Shares Cryptic Post

India have had a horror run in Bengaluru in the opening Test of the IND vs NZ series. The Indian team bundled out for 46 runs, their lowest on home soil in Test cricket history. But this is not something new for the Indian team as they had experienced the same fate in Adelaide, against Australia, back in 2020. India had bundled out on 36 against Australia in the Pink Ball Test.

Former India vice-captain and captain, Ajinkya Rahane too was a part of that horror show. Rahane, who had last played for India in the finals of World Test Championship 2023 is struggling to find his way back in the Indian team. It has been almost an year that Rahane finds himself on the side lines of the Indian Test team. Just moments after India were rattled by New Zealand's pace attack and were bundled out for 46 runs, Rahane posted a video of himself batting in the nets. He captioned the video 'Ready to Strike'.

Yashasvi Jaiswal (13) was the only other batter to reach double digits. Matt Henry (5/15), William O'Rourke (4/22), and Tim Southee (1/8) were in fine form, dominating the proceedings as India lost six wickets for just 34 runs during a stunning first session. In the second session, India could add only 12 runs, losing the remaining four wickets.
