Ind vs NZ: Virat Kohli perished for a nine-ball duck during the first Test at Bengaluru. Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has now pointed out the flaw in Virat Kohli 's technique that led to his dismissal for a duck. As per Manjrekar, it is Kohli's tendency to press on the front foot that has not worked for him at Chinnaswamy. Manjrekar claimed that Kohli could easily have tackled that.

‘Virat has compounded his problems by wanting to be on the front foot to every ball’

"Have said this before will say it again. Virat has compounded his problems by wanting to be on the front foot to every ball. No matter the length. Today’s dismissal ball could have been comfortably tackled off the back foot," Manjrekar's tweet read.

MATCH UPDATE

At the time of filing the copy, India were reeling at 34 for six and lunch was taken. Rishabh Pant is in the middle on 15*. KL Rahul perished at the stroke of lunch. After lunch, India will look to get their innings back on track.

This was former India captain Kohli's 38th international duck - the most for any active cricketer along with New Zealand's Tim Southee. India skipper Rohit Sharma is third in the unwanted list with 33 ducks.

India made two changes with Sarfaraz Khan replacing an injured Shubman Gill, who was not "100 per cent" according to the skipper, and Kuldeep Yadav replacing seamer Akash Deep as a third spinner.

"Shubman Gill was unavailable for selection of the first Test due to a neck stiffness," the Indian team management informed after the toss.
