The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) gave only India vs Pakistan a reserve day, with the game to resume from where it stopped on the first day. The decision was, however, not well received as several former cricketers and social media users blasted the organisers for their biasedness.

Interestingly, heavy rains and thunderstorms are predicted on September 11 evening. The conditions from Sunday have not improved as Colombo witnessed showers throughout the night and it continues to be gloomy. While there is no prediction of rain till 4 PM IST, the conditions are expected to chance soon after.

How India performed on first day?

Heavy rain in Colombo disrupted the highly-anticipated Super 4 clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan. The match, which was well underway with India at 147 for 2 in 24.1 overs, was forced into a reserve day due to the persistent downpour.

India had initially dominated proceedings, with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill forging a formidable opening partnership of 121 runs, both scoring half-centuries at an impressive run rate. Pakistan's bowlers struggled to contain the Indian batters, with Shaheen Shah Afridi proving expensive in his initial spell.

However, Pakistan fought back by dismissing both openers in quick succession, bringing some respite to their side. Just as the match was poised for a thrilling finish, rain intervened, leading to several inspections by the umpires, but the weather ultimately had the final say.
