The India vs Pakistan match is underway in the Asia Cup 2023 at Pallekele International Stadium.  Pakistan won the opening match against Nepal. The Rohit Sharma led team won the toss against Pakistan and elected to bat first. However, the team has not had the best start since the match resumed after the rain delay. IND vs PAK: Team India struggled against Pakistan in the early overs 

India was at 30/2 in their match against Pakistan after 7 overs. It's reminiscent of prior matchups like the 2017 Champions Trophy Final and the 2021 T20 World Cup match, as the top-order's struggle against Pakistan's left-arm pacers continues. Rohit Sharma started the batting with Shubman Gill, but the Indian captain did not last long on the pitch and only managed to make 11 runs in 22 balls against Pakistan in the Asia Cup opener. Shaheen Afridi took the wicket of Rohit Sharma.

Virat Kohli replaced Rohit after the wicket, but the former captain also did not last long on the pitch. When Shaheen Shah Afridi bowled Virat Kohli out with a decent-length delivery that took an inside edge and rattled the stumps, India suffered a major loss. Rohit Sharma had scored 11 (22), 4 (7), 28 (16), and 12 (18) against Pakistan in his previous four games across all formats.

IND vs PAK: Virat Kohli’s reaction to Rohit Sharma’s wicket

It appeared that Virat Kohli was surprised wwith Pakistan's bowler delivery to Rohit Sharma. With wide eyes, Kohli stared at the ball in disbelief. However, Kohli's reply suggested that he was a little uneasy about facing their bitter rivals. Kohli went out after scoring 4 runs off 7 balls, adding to India's woes. Shreyas Iyer replaced Kohli, but the player also failed to display consistency on the field, making 14 runs in 9 balls and was removed by Haris Rauf. India currently stands 51/3 in 11.2 overs.
