As Shahbaz Neem stepped onto field for ongoing third Test between India and South Africa, he became 296th Indian player to represent country in Test cricket. After playing 110 first-class matches for Jharkhand, left-arm spinner finally achieved his life-long dream of playing longest format of game. Co-incidentally, his debut also came at his home ground in Ranchi. 30-year old cricketer was included in playing XI in place of leing pacer Ishant Sharma.

Kuruppu played just four Tests for Sri Lanka. However, cricketer h a memorable debut in 1987 at his home ground in Colombo against New Zealand. batsman scored 201 t out, accounting for more than half of Sri Lanka’s first innings total.

Former West Indian batting great George Heley retired with a Test aver of 60.83.
