Indian bowlers do enough to restrict Quinton de Kock & Co.
The Indian bowling squad did well to restrict South Africa to a total of 149/5 at the end of the first innings. Deepak Chahar and Navdeep Saini were good with the new ball. Young spinner Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja did well to control the South African batting order. Wicket-keeper and captain, Quinton de Kock, scored a fast-paced 52 at the top of the batting order.
Debutant Temba Bavuma missed out on a half-century in his opening game after being dismissed at 49 of a Deepak Chahar delivery. At the death, middle-order batsman, David Miller, tried to take some big shots along with Dwaine Pretorious. However, there weren’t any more significant contributions from the Proteas batsmen throughout the game. Apart from Washington Sundar, the rest of the Indian bowlers were a little expensive against South Africa. Virat Kohli & Co. have been given a target of 150 and will back themselves to chase the target with comfortable ease on home soil. Let's see if Ravi Shastri's squad can secure a win to give India a lead in the three-match series.
