Ind vs SA third Test: India eye clean sweep, SA aim for points
While India looks to complete series whitewash, the South Africa side will play for pride and also look to open their account in World Test Championship.

Team India and South Africa will face each other in the third Test at JSCA Stadium Complex in Ranchi starting Saturday. While India looks to complete series whitewash, the visiting side will be playing for pride. Apart from these two factors, 40 points for the World Test Championship is also at stake for both sides.

India, having won the first two matches, is sitting on top of the World Test Championship points table with 200 points. South Africa, on the other hand, is yet to get off the mark.

From Team India’s perspective, it has been a fantastic performance from bowlers as well as the batsmen. The top three run-getters in the series have been Mayank Agarwal ( 330 runs), Rohit Sharma (317 Runs)and skipper Virat Kohli (305 runs). The Indian bowlers have been exceptional in the series so far. Ravichandran Ashwin leads the way with 14 wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja has picked up 10 wickets in two tests so far.

Ind vs SA Third Test: South Africa’s performance in the series so far
For South Africa, the series has been disappointing so far as batsmen have failed to perform with bat and bowlers have failed to chip in with wickets. In the batting department, Dean Elgar (216 runs), Quinton de Kock (147 runs) and Faf du Plessis (137 runs) are the highest run getters. Keshav Maharaj has been the surprise factor with the bat scoring 103 runs in four innings so far. In the bowling department, Keshav Maharaj has picked up 6 wickets, while Kagiso Rabada has picked up 4 wickets in two matches.

Ind vs SA Third Test: What to expect from both the teams
Virat Kohli could be tempted to play an extra spinner on the spin-friendly track at JSCA Stadium Complex. Kuldeep Yadav who was seen sweating it out in the nets could start the game ahead of Umesh Yadav, who despite his wickets in Pune, seems to be the only one who could be excluded. For South Africa, there could be a lot of changes due to injury and form. Keshav Maharaj is set to miss the final Test due to injury. The news comes in as a huge blow for Proteas. The likes of Lungi Ngidi, Heinrich Klaasen, and Zubayr Hamza could be brought into the side.
