Tilak Varma's classic display went in vein as West Indies defeated India by two wickets in the second T20I at Providence Stadium. The hosts secured a vital win in the first match as they scrapped out a four run win to take a 1-0 lead in the five match T20I series. India already claimed the Test series 1-0 followed by a ODI series victory.

Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to bat first but the decision pretty much backfired as the visitors lost wickets in regular occasions. A certain Tilak Varma maintained his form as he registred his maiden T20I half century at the Providence Stadium.
Varma put up a crucial 42-run partnership with Ishan Kishan (27) before joining forces with skipper Hardik Pandya to stitch a 38-run stand. The Men in Blue put up a modest score of 152 on the scoreboard.

West Indies were in a spot of bother as they lost a Brandon King, Johnson Charles and Kyle Mayers. But Nicholas Pooran kept hitting the Indian bowlers to everywhere as they looked to be on course towards a victory.
