India announce squad for first 2 Tests against England: Ishant, Pandya return in whites

The Test series which is set to begin from February 5, will witness the return of skipper Virat Kohli, Ishant Sharma and Hardik Pandya in the longest-format

On day after registering a historic win at Gabba against Australia, Team India have anunced ir squs for first two Tests against England. Test series which is set to begin from February 5, will witness return of skipper Virat Kohli who h travelled back home after first Test against Australia for birth of his first child. selection panel led by Chetan Sharma has also brought back veteran speedster Ishant Sharma, who h been ruled out of Australia tour with an injury whereas Hardik Pandya will also don whites despite having lost his far a few days ago. 

In absence of Mohamm Shami and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Indian team has reposed its faith in young guns Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur, who've h an impressive Test series Down Under. In spin department, Ravichandran Ashwin and Washington Sundar along with Kuldeep Yav have retained ir spots while Axar Patel has been called in to fill Ravindra Jeja's shoes, who sustained an injury during Australia tour.

squ also includes KL Rahul and Jasprit Bumrah, both of whom sustained injuries down under. Moreover, KS Bharat, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Shahbaz Neem and Rahul Chahar have been named four stand-byes who will be inducted into squ in case of anyone from main squ was to be replaced.

England tour of India 2020/21

England will be visiting India for an all-format bilateral series that will go on for almost two months. gruelling tour with English cricket team comprises four Test matches, five T20Is, and three ODIs up until March 28. five-match Test series will also constitute a major part of ongoing inaugural ICC World Test Championship.

tour kicks off with first Test that will be played in Chennai's M.A. Chidambaram Stium. Meanwhile, entire bilateral series has been restricted to just three venues by Sourav Ganguly-led BCCI committee. In an official statement by Indian board, decision for limited venues was me due to coronavirus crisis that is prevailing in country. venues decided for series are Chennai’s M. A. Chidambaram Stium, Ahmedab’s Sardar Patel Stium, and Pune’s Maharashtra Cricket Association Stium.
