India defeating SA forces Faf du Plessis to demand certainty in CSA

South Africa captain Faf du Plessis demands certainty within CSA by saying they need to finalise the positions of team director and director of cricket.

South Africa skipper Faf du Plessis has called on Cricket South Africa (CSA) to quickly finalise upon positions of team director and director of cricket. At present, Ech Nkwe and Corrie van Zyl are serving two positions on an interim basis respectively. Both Ech and Corrie were responsible for picking South African Test squad that recently lost 0-3 in India.  

Faf du Plessis demands certainty in CSA

Upon his return to South Africa, Du Plessis said that positions of interim coach and director need to be resolved as quickly as possible. He added that board needs to make decisions that will positively influence team. South African skipper hinted that re is a lack of clarity within board and someone needs to make decisions regarding same.

Faf du Plessis’ recent comments came after CSA anunced a reshuffling in manner in which South African men’s team will function. According to CSA, Proteas team will w have a team director who will be reporting to director of cricket.

South Africa tour of India and beyond

South African recently toured for three T20Is and three Test matches. After levelling T20I series 1-1, hosts completely blanked visitors in Test matches that followed. Indian team inflicted an innings defeat over South Africa in last two Tests to make it a 3-0 series win. With win, Team India also regained Freedom Trophy which y lost in South Africa last year.

South Africa will w host England for four Tests, three ODI’s and three T20I’s between December 17, 2019 and February 16, 2020.
