India named their Test squad for the three-match Test series against South Africa scheduled to begin after the end of the T20 series later in September

India named ir Test squ for three-match Test series against South Africa scheduled to begin after end of T20 series later in September. KL Rahul, who performer miserably in tour against West Indies, was dropped from Test side. Meanwhile, chief selector MSK Pras revealed to Republic TV that Rohit Sharma would be considered as an opener for side, ending speculations of when 'Hit Man' was going to be given a chance. Pacer Mohamm Shami was also included in squ despite an arrest warrant issued against him by court on allegations of domestic violence by his wife. Shubman Gill was finally included in Test squ after many hues and cry over his stellar performances for India A side. India is also mulling thought of having Wriddhaman Saha as ir Test wicketkeeper following a string of poor shows from young Rishabh Pant and have included Saha also in Test squ.

South Africa will come back to India once again in March 2020 for a three-match ODI series. South Africa will be led by Faf du Plessis in Tests and Quinton de Kock in game's shortest format.
