India declared ir first innings after posting a mammoth total of 601 runs with skipper Virat Kohli leading charge with a blistering kck of 254 runs along with Ravindra Jadeja who scored 91 runs on Day two in Pune. After losing Ajinkya Rahane in first session of day, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja stitched toger a partnership of 200 plus runs, with skipper himself going on to hit a hundred followed by a double hundred. Virat Kohli toppled yet ar record as he registered his seventh double hundred in Tests and went past Sachin Tendulkar's high score of 248 runs. Indian skipper decided to declare innings after fall of Ravindra Jadeja's wicket, putting an end to misery and brunt faced by South Africa's bowlers.

Virat Kohli scores 250, goes past Tendulkar

Resuming his innings on Day two, skipper Virat Kohli played a magnificent kck en route to 250 runs and received good support from Ravindra Jadeja on or end. Ajinkya Rahane was dismissed for 59 runs following which Indian skipper stepped on accelerator and quickly went from scoring a 100 to a 200 and finally a 250. On or hand, Ravindra Jadeja narrowly missed out on his century by just nine runs as he fell prey to South Africa's Senuran Muthuswamy. Skipper Virat Kohli was hailed as a selfless skipper by fans for declaring innings at fall of Jadeja's wicket instead of pursuing his maiden score of 300 runs as re were still 18 overs left for day. Virat Kohli's latest kcks takes his Test tally to 7054 runs, averaging 55.11 with seven double-hundreds to his name. Virat Kohli also broke Australian legend Don Bradman's record of scoring most number of 150-run kcks as a captain as he registered ninth 150-run score of his career as opposed to Bradman's eight.
