‘Why Him Always?’: Ex-India Cricketer Lambasts BCCI for Cutting off Sanju Samson From SL ODI Series

The excitement for the India tour of Sri Lanka has exceeded after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the T20I and ODI sides for the series. It will be Gautam Gambhir's first assignment as the coach of the Indian National Cricket Team, and the anticipation is at an all-time high. While top names like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma make a return, the snub of Sanju Samson from the ODI series has caused a furore among the fans, as they believe his talent is being underutilized. Recently, a former cricketer has called out the BCCI for keeping out Samson from the series.

Former India cricketer flabbergasted after Sanju Samson was axed from Sri Lanka ODIs
Former India cricketer Dodda Ganesh was left unimpressed after the BCCI announced the squad members of the India white-ball tour of Sri Lanka, which will feature T20I and ODI games. He asserted that selecting Shivam Dube over Sanju Samson despite the fact that he scored a ton in the preceding ODI series against South Africa.
"Shivam Dube in place of Sanju Samson in the ODIs is ridiculous. Poor Sanju scored a century in his last series against SA. Why him always? My heart goes out to this young man," Dodda Ganesh tweeted on X (Formerly Twitter).

Sanju Samson delivered a spectacular showcase in the preceding T20I series against Zimbabwe at Harare when Team India went 4-1. The wicketkeeper-batter was critical in leading the new Men in Blue towards a win. But he faced the axing yet again in the Sri Lanka ODI series. However, he will be a part of the T20I series. Another big name who put up a solid showcase was debutant Abhishek Sharma. The opening all-rounder was key in the second T20I after Zimbabwe pulled off a shocking win in the inaugural fixture. But he did not get the chance to feature in the T20I series.
