As Men in Blue come to terms with ir humiliating loss in India vs Australia 1st Test, y have me a record team ever hopes to make. entire Indian side mand to put up just 36 runs before y were bundled out by Aussies in ir second innings - recording lowest Test score ever by an Indian side. However, before this very forgettable performance in elaide, Indian team h in fact broken a huge Australia pink-ball Test record.

Australia pink-ball Test record broken by India before mortifying loss

Tim Paine-led Australia side beat Virat Kohli’s India by eight wickets in India vs Australia 1st Test at elaide Oval. This gives hosts a 1-0 le in ir campaign to reclaim Border-Gavaskar trophy for first time since 2014-15. Amidst shock of massive loss, a major feat achieved by Indians seems to have gone unticed. Earlier, having won toss, Kohli decided to put his men on to bat. A good first innings saw visiting side put 244 runs on board after 93.1 overs. Cheteshwar Pujara, 43; Virat Kohli, 74 and Ajinkya Rahane, 42, were best performers for India.

While it wasn't greatest of Test totals, Indian bowlers proved to be much more than just up for task handed to m. pace duo of Umesh Yav and Jasprit Bumrah scalped five wickets between m while spin king Ravichandran Ashwin removed Steve Smith, Travis He, Cameron Green and his Aussie counterpart, Nathan Lyon to restrict hosts to a mere 191. This meant that India went into ir (doomed) second innings with a modest but sizeable le of 53 runs.

This marked first time in last eight Day-Night Tests played by Australia, that team failed to take a le after ir first innings. Australia's last seven day-night Tests have seen m take hefty les of 22, 124, 287, 215, 179, 287 and 250 over ir opponents. While this streak was broken by dominant Indian bowling lineup, it proved to be of little use to team as y collapsed under a resurgent Australian bowling lineup. Pat Cummins took four wickets while Josh Hazlewood took five, leaving power-packed Aussie batting lineup just 90 runs to chase for win.
