Ind vs Ban: When India take on Bangladesh in the first Test in Chennai, Yashasvi Jaiswal would be on the verge of a massive feat. The left-handed opener could surpass veteran Ajinkya Rahane to score most runs in a single World Test Championship edition. Rahane scored 1159 runs in the WTC 2019-21 cycle and Jaiswal already has amassed 1028 runs and is 132 runs away from overtaking the former. With the capability and opportunity Jaiswal would have in Chennai during the opening Test, one will back him to get there. The swashbuckling left-hander is just one of the three batters apart from Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma to score 1000 runs in a single WTC cycle. Jaiswal, who is currently the joint-second highest run-scorer in the WTC 2023-25 cycle with 1028 runs, alongside Ben Duckett - needs 371 runs to edge Joe Root. The English batter is now the leading run-getter in this WTC cycle with 1398 runs.
