India vs England: Chennai Tests to have no crowd; Ahmedabad could see fans coming in

The TNCA has stated that the decision to hold the first two games without the fans was done keeping in mind the safety of the cricketers amid the pandemic.

After playing a dramatic India vs Australia Test series, Men in Blue are all set to play England from February 5. As per  Tamil Nu Cricket Association (TNCA), first two Test matches in India-England series will be held at MA Chidambaram Stium in Chennai with empty stands. body has stated that decision to hold first two games without fans was done keeping in mind safety of cricketers amid COVID-19 pandemic. However, second half of series, to be held in Ahmedab, could see fans coming in.

"We will t have any fans coming in. What happens later in  series is a call for BCCI to take along with  English cricket board. But first two games will t have fans. Cricket lovers will need to watch ir favourite stars in action on televisions for w," a TNCA official told news ncy ANI.

India vs England Test series will see return of skipper Virat Kohli who h taken a paternity leave after first India Vs Australia Test for birth of his first child. All-rounder Hardik Pandya and speedster Ishant Sharma have also me ir way back into squ. KL Rahul has been picked subject to fitness. Meanwhile, T Natarajan who played his debut Test against Australia has t been included in lineup for Chennai Tests paving way for Spinner Axar Patel.  first Chennai Test will be played from February 5 to 9 and second one from February 13 to 17.
