Gautam Gambhir CONFIRMS Pant's Availability For Pune Test, Slams Media Over Rahul Questioning

India head coach Gautam Gambhir slammed the media on the eve of the second game against New Zealand for questioning KL Rahul 's spot in the side and also confirmed Rishabh Pant 's availability for Pune Test. Gambhir confirmed that Pant would be keeping wickets at Pune. 

‘Not important what social media or experts think’

"Social media doesn't decide playing X1,It is not important what social media or experts think, it is important what team management thinks. He had a decent knock in a tough Kanpur pitch. He would want to score big runs. This team management is looking to back him."

When asked about Shubman Gill, Gambhir said that he is fit but the playing XI is yet to be decided.

New Zealand bagged a famous win over Team India in the first Test match of the series. The Bengaluru Test match will be one such instance which will be etched in the Kiwi players' minds after they knocked out India in a record-breaking score. Meanwhile, Washington Sundar has been added to the India squad for the remaining two Tests versus New Zealand. Days after he was added, Ryan ten Doeschate, India's fielding coach has revealed the reason behind the move. As per ten Doeschate, Sundar was added to the squad to counter the four left-handers present in the New Zealand side. Sundar was added in the squad straight after the Bengaluru Test as he had hit a hundred against Delhi in a Ranji game. And he had also picked up six wickets in that game.
