India continued their dominant performance at home as they completed a whitewash against South Africa 3-0 in the 2019 Freedom Trophy. India won all the three Tests convincingly. South Africa showed some fight in the first Test but since then it all went downhill for the visitors.

The debutant in Ranchi performed well with the ball with the chance he got.

10) Umesh Yadav:

Inns: 4 | Wkts: 11 | Avg: 12.18 | BBI: 3/22

He played only two Test matches but impressed in both the Test matches with spells reading 3/22, 3/37, 3/40, and 2/35.

9) Mohammed Shami:

Inns: 6 | Wkts: 13 | Avg: 14.76 | BBI: 5/35

Rating: 8.0

Shami has been exceptional throughout the series, producing one of the best performances by an Indian fast bowler in a home Test series. 

8) Ravichandran Ashwin:

Inns: 6 | Wkts: 15 | Avg: 25.26 | BBI: 7/145

Rating: 8.5

Ashwin was the leading wicket-taker in the series. He was crucial in winning the first Test with his 7-fer.

7) Wriddhiman Saha:

Inns: 2 | Runs: 45 | Avg: 22.5 | Hs: 24

Rating: 7.0

Saha did not have much to do with the bat but was excellent with the gloves, taking some outstanding catches and inflicting world-class stumpings on his comeback into the Indian Test team.

6) Cheteshwar Pujara:

Rating: 6.0

Cheteshwar Pujara had a series which was below par with this high standards. He made 145 runs from 4 innings at an average of 36.25 with 2 fifties.

5) Ravindra Jadeja:

Inns: 4 | Runs: 212 | Avg: 70.66 | Hs: 91

Inns: 6 | Wkts: 13 | Avg: 30.69 | BBI: 4/87

Rating: 8.0

Ravindra Jadeja played vital knocks when needed with a quick 91 in the second Test. He had a decent series with the ball as well.

4) Ajinkya Rahane:

It took almost 3 years for Rahane to score a century at home, but it came at the right time. Rahane scored a total of 216 runs at an average of 72. 

3) Virat Kohli:

Rating: 8.5

Virat had a good tournament as well as he scored his highest Test score 254*. His captaincy was aggressive, which put the Proteas under pressure.

2) Mayank Agarwal:

Inns: 4 | Runs: 340 | Avg: 85 | Hs: 215

Rating: 9.0

Agarwal finished the series as the second-highest run-scorer with his rally of 340 runs with two centuries.

1) Rohit Sharma:

Inns: 4 | Runs: 529 | Avg: 132.25 | Hs: 212

Rating: 9.5

The player of the series, Rohit Sharma's promotion as a Test opener couldn’t have gotten any better as he scored 2 centuries and one double century.
