Indian women thrashed Proteas in nail-biter, take home the series 3-0

The Indian women's cricket team defeated South Africa by six runs in a low-scoring third one-day international cricket match on Monday, October 14 in Vadodara.

The Indian women's team defeated South Africa by six runs in a low-scoring third one-day international cricket match on Monday in Vadodara. The win gave the Indian women's team a clean sweep in the three-match series. The Indian team, batting first, were all out for 146 in 45.5 overs, but the spinners defended the score and the sharp bowling of Ekta Bisht, Deepti Sharma, and Rajeshwari Gaikwad limited the Proteas to score140 runs in 48 overs.

Bowlers dominated the day 

Batting first after winning the toss, the Indian women put up a low total of 146 runs on the board. Harmanpreet Kaur and Shikha Pandey teamed up and led the team to a struggling score after a poor start. Left-arm spinner Ekta Bisht, who was adjudged the best player of the match, took three wickets for 32 runs. Another left-arm spinner Rajeshwari Gaikwad took two for 22 while off-spinner Deepti Sharma took 2 wickets for 24 runs. Harmanpreet Kaur, Jemima Rodriguez, and Mansi Joshi took 1-1 wickets

Chasing the score of 147, the visitors kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were never allowed to bat freely by the lethal Indian bowlers.

Ace Indian cricketer Mithali Raj achieved another feat as Indian clinched the series 3-0. Raj completed her 100th win as the captain of the Indian team.
