IPL 2020: Dale Steyn gives witty reply to questions about his preferred IPL team

South African Dale Steyn, who has been released by Royal Challengers Bangalore before the IPL 2020 Auction, gave a savage reply to one of his fan’s questions.

South African fast bowler Dale Steyn, who has been released by Royal Challengers Bangalore before the Indian Premier League 2020 Auction, gave a witty reply to one of his fan’s questions on Instagram on Saturday, November 16. After being released by RCB, he will be available for the upcoming auction. The uncertainty surrounding Steyn participating in it has got many cricket fans curious on social media.

Steyn, who is active on Twitter, did a Q and A session with his fans where his fans got to interact with him closely. Thereafter, a fan asked him about which team would he like to join for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League as he has been released by RCB. The 36-year-old replied to his fan writing that he will join whichever team that can afford him.

Steyn's injury saga

The Proteas bowler was released by RCB due to fitness issues. He has been suffering from various issues related to his shoulder and ankle since 2016. It led to the degradation of his form and reduced his number of appearances. Steyn suffered a shoulder injury in Australia and he missed a year of cricket as he has undergone surgery for it. In 2018, he returned to cricket against India where he suffered an ankle injury and he gradually took retirement from Test Cricket.

Apart from Steyn, RCB has released 12 players before the auction. And, they currently go into the auctions with a purse of the budget of Rs.27.9 crore. Meanwhile, Moeen Ali and AB de Villiers were the only overseas players who were not released by the Indian Premier League franchise, RCB.
