IPL 2020: MI and KKR to resume training after relaxation of Abu Dhabi quarantine rules
Due to quarantine norms in Abu Dhabi, Mumbai Indians and KKR were initially set for a seven-day extra delay before beginning their IPL 2020 training.

Indian Premier League 2020 (IPL 2020) season is scheduled to commence from September 19 in United Arab Emirates (UAE). Between August 20 and 23, all eight franchises arrived and set ir bases to desert country. While six franchises decided to stay in Dubai hotels to undergo ir seven-day quarantine rms, teams like Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) chose to quarantine and base mselves out of UAE capital city of Abu Dhabi.
In comparison to Dubai quarantine rms, Abu Dhabi quarantine rms are much stricter as it is imperative for any new visitor re to remain 14 days indoors before moving outside. difference of quarantine regulations in two cities reportedly ‘upset’ both MI and KKR, as y have to wait seven extra days than or franchises in order to begin ir IPL 2020 training.

According to a report by InsideSport, both MI and KKR franchises can w begin ir training for much-awaited IPL 2020 season. On Wednesday, August 26, one of support staff members of MI line-up had made an appeal to Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to make measures through which franchise can begin its training.

As per sources close to aforementioned website, BCCI and IPL 2020 Governing Council held a meeting to address issue a day after receiving MI’s grievances. Later, both BCCI and Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) decided to relax Abu Dhabi quarantine rms for MI and KKR franchises. two teams are w eligible to begin ir training at nearby venues.

Having won previous edition in 2019, Rohit Sharma-led MI side will head into IPL 2020 season as defending champions/ While IPL 2020 schedule has t been revealed yet, MI franchise is likely to face Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in opening match of tournament, should Indian board decide to follow same itinerary as planned for March earlier this year. On or hand, KKR will be captained by seasoned wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik in upcoming event.
