IPL 2020: SRH follow KXIP with day out at Dubai beach despite rising COVID-19 cases

On a rest day, SRH squad hit the beach and were seen having a blast. They were seen enjoying a game of beach volleyball ahead of the gruelling IPL 2020.

IPL franchise SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) may have been  last team to reach UAE for Indian Premier League (IPL 2020 but y have completed ir quarantine period and have resumed ir training as well. As a result, on a rest day, i.e Wednesday,  SRH squad hit beach and were seen having a wonderful time. It was a day after Kings XI Punjab players also relaxed on beach attached to ir hotel.

SRH, KXIP enjoy leisure on Dubai beach despite CSK COVID-19 fiasco

SRH squad was seen enjoying a game of beach volleyball at a private beach ahead of IPL 2020. franchise, on its Twitter account, posted pictures of team making most of ir rest day. Players like middle-order batsman Manish Pandey,  wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha, former India U-19 skipper Abhishek Sharma and ors were seen taking part in outdoor activity of SRH team.

Hyderabad-based franchise are second team to head out to beach along with ir squad to have a team bonding exercise. Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) were first ones to adopt this approach. Soon after completing mandatory quarantine and a few training sessions, KL Rahul & Co. hit beach for a 'fun day' recently.

Players and manment enjoyed a swim in UAE waters and also had a groovy photo session. Head coach Anil Kumble, Jonty Rhodes and Wasim Jaffer were also with players, having fun at beach. Speedster Mohammed Shami was also seen posing as coach Kumble captured him.

COVID-19 threat looms over IPL 2020

After whole CSK COVID-19 fiasco, it can't be said for certain wher SRH and KXIP are justified in going to a beach. IPL 2020 has come under scanner with several foreign players raising doubts over ir safety in league. Despite  bio-secure environment and BCCI handing over contact tracing systems to all players and support staff, re are several apprehensions regarding event. CSK veteran Suresh Raina too returned to India due to such concerns in CSK contingent.

Virat Kohli too recently had urged all players to t move out until for a necessity. Before KXIP's day out at beach, Kohli had shared that players are in UAE to play cricket and t have fun. With ar BCCI medical staff member in UAE recently testing positive, it remains to be seen if BCCI takes stricter action on social distancing and SOPs to be followed by team contingents.
