Amid the sparkling speculations regarding who will be retained and released ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul has met the owner of the franchise that he captains, Sanjiv Goenka. As per reports, the Indian batter met the industrialist at the franchise's Kolkata office and the conversation between them lasted approximately an hour. The meeting is the first formal convention between the two since the animated discussion that transpired earlier in the year on May 8, in IPL 2024, following LSG's loss to SRH.
KL Rahul Meets LSG Owner Sanjiv Goenka?
Being a player who promises consistency and has leadership acumen, KL Rahul is touted as a complete package. Franchises often get attracted by the features he offers and hence he remains a much-sought-after name in the Indian Premier League. Rahul is currently bound with LSG, where he has already spent three seasons. He formed a successful partnership with the current India head coach Gautam Gambhir in the first couple of seasons, as LSG advanced to the playoffs on both occasions. However, the third season proved to be a complete disaster, as the team finished 7th in the league. The failed season and the recent rumblings linking KL Rahul with Royal Challengers Bengaluru led to the assertions about Rahul wanting to end his stint with LSG.

Nevertheless, the meeting between KL Rahul and Sanjiv Goenka may assuage the assertions and the picture of the two that is making waves on the internet hints that all is well between the LSG owner and captain, which further indicates that KL Rahul may get retained as the captain of LSG ahead of the mega auction.
