After winning the maiden IPL tournament in 2008, Rajasthan Royals have failed to lift the trophy for the second time despite their strategy to buy low-cost players for high returns. In IPL 2018, they splashed the cash to bring in Steve Smith, Ben Stokes, and Jayadev Unadkat for a huge price, but the plan did not work as they failed to win the title.

The IPL 2020 trade window is all set to take place in December and Royals will be eyeing to first remove the underperformers in the side and replace them with players who can perform.
Before that, let’s look at overseas players who could be sent to the auction pool in this year's auction.

IPL Auction 2020: Ish Sodhi
The New Zealand leg-spinner leaked runs in his previous campaign with Rajasthan Royals, which is one of the major reasons why his team failed to make it to the playoffs of the previous edition of the IPL. The Kiwi bowler took 4 wickets in just 2 games of IPL 2019, his economy rate of 9.34 kept him out of the squad.

The leg-spinner had scalped three of those four wickets in the final match of the season against the Delhi Capitals.
With the likes of Shreyas Gopal, Krishnappa Gowtham, and Riyan Parag handling the spin-bowling department its time for RR to drop the Kiwi bowler.

IPL Auction 2020: Ashton Turner
The Australian was a disappointment in IPL 2019. He was bought for ₹50 lakh (base price) in 2019 IPL Auction. While it was his first IPL season, he scored three golden ducks in his first three matches and then he scored an unbeaten 3 runs.
Rajasthan will look for better options to take up his spot in the next IPL auction.
IPL Auction 2020: Liam Livingston
The England batsman failed to make an impact with the limited opportunity presented to him. He only played four matches last season and scored only 71 runs which did not help his side making their way into playoffs.
With the likes of heavyweights like Steve Smith, Jos Buttler already in the ranks, Livingston will find the chances hard to come by and the decision to drop him will be in the best interest of both the sides.
