The recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup Qualifiers in the UAE saw many individual signs of brilliance from all participating nations. As we inch closer towards the upcoming IPL auction scheduled for December 19, we take a look at three possible players from associate nations who could be selected by IPL franchises.
Top 3 players from associate nations who could be selected in IPL Auction 2020
Bilal Khan
In the recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup Qualifiers in the UAE, left-arm pacer Bilal Khan picked up 18 wickets in just nine matches for Oman. Oman may have failed to qualify for the semi-finals, but Bilal Khan’s performance for his side was one of the highlights of the tournament. If given a chance in the cash-rich league, the pacer can generate good bounce on Indian pitches and can contain runs in the death overs.
Ryan Ten Doeschate
Ryan Ten Doeschate was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders squad between 2011 and 2015. During his tenure with the team, the Knight Riders won the IPL in 2012 and 2014 and his middle-order batting exploits won them many matches in crunch situations. Having played more than 300 T20 matches, the cricketer is among the highest run-getters in the format.
Gerhard Erasmus
Namibian cricketer Gerhard Erasmus was named ‘Player of the Tournament’ in the recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup Qualifiers. He scored 268 runs in nine matches for his side and was instrumental in Namibia ending fourth in the event. Overall, the star all-rounder has played 16 T20Is for his team where he scored 407 runs at an average of 37. He has also accounted for 12 wickets with his right-arm off-breaks.
