IPL auction 2022: Will auctioneer Hugh Edmeades return to conduct Mega Auction on Day 2?

Former IPL auctioneer Richard Madley took to Twitter and said that he had chat with his friend Hugh Edmeades and e will return on day 2 of the IPL 2022 Auction.

IPL 2022 Auction got underway on Saturday, February 12, with franchises getting involved in an intense bidding war and spending insane money to buy players for team. Amid all intense bidding war, re was a moment of shock spre across auction room when auctioneer Hugh Edmees collapsed in middle of bidding process for Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga.

Will Hugh Edmees be a part of auction on Day 2?

As soon as Hugh Edmees collapsed during IPL Mega Auction 2022, medical staff rushed to take care of auctioneer as members of franchises looked shocked.  IPL later gave a statement via ir Twitter handle stating that Hugh Edmees, IPL Auctioneer, h an unfortunate fall due to Postural Hypotension during IPL Auction.  medical team attended to him immediately after incident & he is w stable. However, Mr. Charu Sharma will continue with auction proceedings today.

A BCCI source while speaking to PTI said, "He (Hugh Edmees) has been attended to by a doctor. He is doing fine, his blood pressure dropped suddenly and that was reason for his sudden collapse. We will kw more once he has a thorough check-up."

Following completion of Day 1 of IPL Mega Auction 2022, question was still left unanswered wher Hugh Edmees will return for Day 2 of  auction.

Former IPL auctioneer Richard Mley, who was a part of IPL Auction until 2018, took to Twitter and said that he h a chat with his friend Hugh Edmees and he got to kw that he was rey to return on day 2 to fulfil his auctioneer duties.

Who is Hugh Edmees?

Hugh Edmees was appointed by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to conduct auctions in 2018. He replaced Richard Mley as auctioneer and has been responsible for conducting auctions of tournament ever since. He has over 35 years of experience in conducting auctions, having led over 2500 auctions across globe. He has been a part of auctions in all fields including international fine art, classic cars, and also for those involving charities.
