IPL pacer who regularly clocks 155kmph to make his India debut in Bangladesh T20Is, joins NCA

After the Test series concludes in Kanpur, India and Bangladesh will play a three-match T20I series, starting October 6 in Gwalior.

India and Bangladesh are currently playing a two-match Test series, the second game of which has been marred by poor weather conditions in Kanpur. On Saturday, Day 2 of the second Test match was called off due to rainfall and wet outfield. The play on the first day was also hampered by rain and bad light. India are currently 1-0 ahead in the contest thanks to a commanding 280-run victory in the first Test.  

After the Test series concludes in Kanpur, India and Bangladesh will play a three-match T20I series. The first match is scheduled to take place in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh . Ahead of the crucial encounter, several reports have emerged suggesting that Team India's head coach Gautam Gambhir may hand a couple of debut caps to youngsters. Amongst the names is Mayank Yadav, the pace sensation who earned a name for himself in this year's IPL

Mayank Yadav may make his India debut soon 

In a significant development, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Mayank Yadav has been invited to join a special camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, signaling a potential international debut on the horizon. The 24-year-old speedster, known for consistently clocking 155kmph, has been recovering from an injury sustained during Indian Premier League 2024 season and is now nearing full fitness.

According to reports, Mayank Yadav's progress has been closely monitored by the NCA coaches and support staff, with no signs of pain reported over the past month. His inclusion in the camp alongside Riyan Parag, Abhishek Sharma, and all-rounder Hardik Pandya suggests that the selectors are keen to fast-track his recovery and prepare him for international duty.

Media reports suggest that Mayank Yadav may make his India debut in the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh , scheduled to begin on October 6. With Jasprit Bumrah likely to be rested for the series to preserve him for the subsequent Test matches against New Zealand, the selectors are eager to blood new talent and Mayank's pace and potential make him an attractive option.
