Avesh Khan traded to Rajasthan Royals with Lucknow Super Giants getting Devdutt Padikkal in return

In a significant move during the Indian Premier League (IPL) trading window ahead of the 2024 season, Avesh Khan has been traded from Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to Rajasthan Royals (RR). Simultaneously, Devdutt Padikkal is switching from Rajasthan to Lucknow as part of the same deal.
Avesh Khan, the right-arm pacer, boasts a track record of 47 IPL matches and has accumulated 55 wickets. Joining LSG in 2022, he has featured in 22 matches, securing 26 wickets for the franchise before the trade to Rajasthan Royals, which was executed at his current fee of Rs. 10 crore.

On the other hand, Devdutt Padikkal, the left-handed batter, is set to represent Lucknow Super Giants after his stint with Rajasthan Royals. With 57 IPL matches to his credit, Padikkal has amassed 1521 runs, including a century and 9 half-centuries. Joining RR in 2022, he played in 28 matches, contributing 637 runs before the trade to LSG at his existing fee.
Gautam Gambhir returns to KKR
Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants mentor Gautam Gambhir has left the franchise to join Kolkata Knight Riders in the same capacity. He was the captain of KKR and led them to two IPL wins before his illustrious tenure came to an end. Fans have been elated since it became official that Gambhir would be joining KKR for IPL 2024.

After the trading window closes, an auction will take place for franchises to finalize their teams for IPL 2024. The auction is expected to take place in December.
