The Chennai Super Kings ' retentions brought in a heap of joy as the fans who have been ardent MS Dhoni fans would be able to see him in action. The CSK management chose to retain the superstar wicketkeeper-batter as an uncapped player. The 2024 season saw fans thronging into stadiums whenever Dhoni was in action, and the same could be expected in the upcoming season. But how long does MSD intend to play? CSK's CEO has offered a huge prediction on the superstar's longevity in the IPL .

MS Dhoni To Continue In IPL After 2025 Season? CSK CEO Offers Huge Prediction
During an appearance in one of Provoke TV's videos on their YouTube channel, the Chennai Super Kings' CEO Kasi Viswanathan emphasised MS Dhoni's future in the IPL. The CSK CEO said that he has revealed his desire to play his final game in Chennai. However, Viswanathan is known to keep everything to himself.
"As far as Mahi bhai (brother) is concerned, you know he keeps everything to himself. It comes out at the last moment only. Knowing the passion he has for CSK, and also knowing the following he has, and he also mentioned in one of the interviews that he'll play his last game in Chennai, we're hoping that he will continue as far as CSK is concerned.
"As long as MS wants to play, the doors are open. Knowing him, his commitment, and his dedication, I'm sure he'll always take the right decision," the CSK CEO said while discussing with Ambati Rayudu.

The Chennai Super Kings retained the services of five cricketers to maintain their core side while releasing the rest of the team. The retained faces include Ruturaj Gaikwad [₹18 Crore], Matheesha Pathirana [₹13 Crore], Shivam Dube [₹12 Crore], and Ravindra Jadeja [₹18 Crore] and MS Dhoni [₹4 Crore]. After retaining five cricketers, the franchise now has a purse of ₹55 Crore, and they need to make sensible decisions as they head into the mega auction.
The fan-favourite Indian cricketer will be back for another season in the IPL, and he is expected to light up wherever the CSK franchise heads. But it is yet to be seen whether the 2025 IPL season will be his last ride in the cash-rich T20 cricket league.
