Lucknow Super Giants have made a big decision to hire Indian bowling legend Zaheer Khan as a mentor. Following Gautam Gambhir's departure, the LSG encountered a slump, dropping to the bottom of the IPL 2024 points table. Zaheer's introduction to the Super Giants would allow them to improve themselves and make vital choices for the 2025 season. The former India bowler will work with the franchise's elite coaching staff, which includes head coach Justin Langer, Jonty Rhodes, and others. The LSG coach shared his thoughts on Zaheer Khan's arrival on the team.

"He's also a very humble man, and it's another trait that we've got at LSG. We're delighted to have him. We can't wait to see him work with our fast bowlers and help us build a really, really competitive squad to help us win the IPL next year. So I can't wait to see Zaheer Khan. I can't wait to see him in our colours and I know he's going to have a huge impact on our franchise. I can't wait to get back involved," Justin Langer said.

Zaheer Khan, the veteran India pacer, will be involved in the Lucknow Super Giants' decision-making process, as well as off-season scouting and player development campaigns. Zaheer has participated in the IPL as both a player and a member of management. The pacer previously played for the Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Delhi Daredevils (now the Delhi Capitals). He captained the Delhi franchise and competed in his final season in 2017, retiring from all forms of cricket after that.
