IPL 2023: Virat Kohli recreates MS Dhoni's WC 2011 winning shot during RCB vs MI - WATCH

RCB star Virat Kohli played a match-winning knock in the chase against Mumbai Indians and also finished off the match in MS Dhoni World Cup 2011 style.

RCB vs MI: Courtsey of Virat Kohli's heroics, Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Mumbai Indians at M. Chinnaswamy Stium in Bengaluru by eight wickets in fifth match of IPL 2023. It was former RCB captain Virat Kohli and skipper Faf du Plessis who stood out on  occasion and single-handedly took ir team over line. 

Faf du Plessis played a kck of 73 runs off 43 balls which consisted of five fours and six sixes. However, du Plessis got out to Arsh Khan but till n he h taken his team close to finish line. main highlight of chase was Virat Kohli who played an unbeaten kck of 82 runs off 49 balls which compiled six fours and five sixes.

2nd April, 2023 also marked 12th anniversary of World Cup 2011 final win when Indian captain MS Dhoni hit a six off Nuwan Kulasekara and ended 28-year-old drought of winning World Cup. Ravi Shastri me moment even grander with his iconic commentary,  "Dhoni finishes off in style, a magnificent strike into crowd, India lift World Cup after 28 years and it is an Indian captain who has been absolutely magnificient in night of finals" Virat Kohli finished match against Mumbai Indians on occasion of 2nd April in same way MS Dhoni h finished World Cup 2011 final. 

Coming to highlights of match it was Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians who suffered 11th consecutive loss in 11th consecutive season of Indian Premier League and have been able to win first match of ir IPL campaign since 2011.

five-time IPL champions didn't have a great start to match and team lost early wickets. Big names like Ishan Kishan, Rohit Sharma, and Suryakumar Yav were t able to perform on occasion and it was young Tilak Verma who rose to occasion and played an unbeaten kck of 84 runs. Tilak took his team to a respectable score of 171/7 and gave m something to fight against RCB. Later it was a Kohi-Faf masterclass that let home side pull off a one-sided chase in Bengaluru.
