2025 is expected to be a massive year for Indian Cricket as the domestic franchise league, the Indian Premier League (IPL) will witness an extensive overhaul. After a string of mini-auctions, the league is set to host a mega auction, and a lot of senior players are expected to exit from their franchises, which could open a chance for the title-less teams to power through and win a title. As the franchises gear up for a string of changes, one particular team could get an enormous jolt. The Mumbai Indians may reportedly lose out on their top star and former skipper.

Massive Mumbai Indians Shake-Up Looms as Rohit Sharma and Another Star Might Leave Before 2025 IPL!

With the IPL Mega Auction set to take place in 2025, the Mumbai Indians could miss out on their top player. As reported by Dainik Jagran, India's T20 World Cup-winning skipper and five-time IPL title winner with MI, Rohit Sharma, could exit from the franchise. Throughout the IPL 2024 season, tensions seemed inevitable in the MI camp ever since Hardik Pandya was appointed as the skipper, and there was discontent among the members of the team.

Reports also mentioned that India's ace batter, Suryakumar Yadav, could follow in Rohit's footsteps and exit from the team ahead of the auction. Both players are expected to make themselves available for the auction, and they could land up in new teams.

Rohit has dedicated several years to Mumbai Indians after his stint with the now-defunct side, Deccan Chargers. He led the side towards five IPL title wins, making them one of the most dominant teams. But Rohit received a rather unceremonious treatment after he was removed as the skipper, making Hardik Pandya the captain in 2024. That year, MI's performance was subpar as they slumped towards the bottom of the table.

Hardik Pandya is yet to put up a convincing performance in the IPL after his homecoming season did not turn out the way he expected it to happen.

It is yet to be seen whether Rohit exits the franchise or not, as it could extensively stir the pot. Any official word is yet to come.
